The newest brewery option in the County is de Garde Brewing in Tillamook, which hosts an intimate taproom for sampling unique beers brewed in “an old world style.” The owner, Linsey Hamacher, is one of very few female brewery owners in the nation, plus hers is the first one that uses only wild fermented yeast and microflora to produce all her products. Her beers are “back to what beers used to be like,” and she and her brewer use select ingredients like cacao nibs, Oregon coast cranberries, blueberries, and merlot barrels, which along with our coastal mist, makes de Garde’s a taste that no valley brewery can top.
